What Is Spinal Cord Injury Rehabilitation?

Spinal cord injury rehabilitation is a specialised program designed to help individuals who have experienced spinal cord injuries to regain function, independence, and quality of life.
It involves a multidisciplinary approach that may include:

• Physical therapy
• Occupational therapy
• Speech therapy, and
• Other interventions tailored to the specific needs of each patient (Ie: Nutrition/Psychology)

Restore the patient’s ability to perform daily activities (such as eating, bathing etc) and regain function in their body as quickly and effectively

Improvement of Motor Skills:

Rehabilitation includes exercises that promote muscle strength, endurance, and control, which are essential for the patient to regain mobility and independence

Motor Skill Development:

This involves therapies that aim to improve cognitive function, such as memory, attention, and problem-solving skills or any other that may result from the stroke
